Connections
Connections link Alma to your external services. Some connections serve as knowledge sources — enriching your organizational memory with insights from your conversations and tools. Others provide capabilities that agents can use to take actions. Many do both.
Managing connections
Go to Settings → Connections to see all available integrations and manage your connected accounts.
Each integration card shows:
- Connection status — Whether you’ve connected your account.
- Usage — Whether it’s used as a knowledge source, a tool for agents, or both.
- Team members — Who else on your team has connected this integration.
How connections work
There are two types of connections:
Personal connections
Some integrations connect at the individual level — each team member authorizes their own account. Gmail, Slack, and Google Calendar work this way. When you connect your Gmail, Alma extracts insights from your email conversations — not your teammates’. Each person connects their own account, and Alma merges everyone’s knowledge into the shared memory.
Organization-level connections
Other integrations connect once for the whole workspace. GitHub, Linear, and Attio work this way. An admin connects the shared account, and all team members benefit from the integration.
Cloud processing
By default, some sources are processed locally when using the desktop app. You can enable cloud processing for supported sources so Alma continues working even when the desktop app isn’t running. Toggle this from the connection card on the Connections page.
