Connecting Sources

Sources are the communication channels Alma monitors. Each team member connects their own accounts, and Alma combines everyone’s data into a shared organizational memory.

How to connect a source

  1. Go to SettingsConnections.
  2. Find the source you want to connect (Gmail, Slack, Google Calendar, etc.).
  3. Click Connect and complete the OAuth authorization flow.
  4. Once connected, Alma begins processing your communications.

You can revoke access at any time by disconnecting the source.

What happens after connecting

Once a source is connected:

  1. Alma fetches your data — Recent communications are pulled from the connected channel.
  2. AI extracts knowledge — People, companies, deals, and relationships are identified in your messages.
  3. Memory builds up — Extracted entities are added to your organizational knowledge graph.
  4. Action items surface — Anything that looks like it needs your attention appears in your queue.

This runs continuously — as new messages arrive, Alma processes them automatically.
