Google Drive

Connecting Google Drive lets Alma monitor your documents for changes and extract insights — including Gemini meeting notes stored in your Meet Recordings folder.

What Alma captures

  • Google Docs content — Text from Google Docs, exported as plain text.
  • File metadata — Titles, authors, modification times, and sharing information.
  • Meeting notes — Gemini-generated meeting notes from the organizer’s Meet Recordings folder.

How it works

Google Drive uses webhook-driven sync. When you connect, Alma registers a push notification channel with Google. When files change, Google notifies Alma, which fetches the changes incrementally. Only Google Docs are processed for content extraction (binary files are skipped).

Connecting

  1. Go to SettingsConnections.
  2. Click Connect on Google Drive.
  3. Authorize access with your Google account.

Google Drive is a personal connection — each user connects their own Drive to capture files they have access to.

Agent tools

Once connected, agents can use these tools:

  • List files — Browse files in any folder.
  • Search files — Full-text search across your Drive.
  • Get file content — Read the text content of a Google Doc.
