Gmail

Gmail is typically the most valuable source for Alma. Your email conversations contain a wealth of information about the people, companies, and deals you interact with.

What Alma captures

When you connect Gmail, Alma extracts insights from your email conversations, identifying:

  • People — Names, email addresses, and roles of people you correspond with.
  • Companies — Organizations mentioned in conversations.
  • Deals and projects — Business opportunities and ongoing work discussed in threads.
  • Action items — Requests, commitments, and deadlines that need your attention.
  • Relationships — How people and companies are connected.

Alma processes full email threads to capture complete context, not just individual messages.

Agent capabilities

With Gmail connected, agents can also:

  • Draft and send emails on your behalf (with approval gates if configured).
  • Send emails with file attachments — attach files by URL or base64-encoded content when asking an agent to send a message.
  • Schedule emails to be sent at a later time, with attachments supported as well.
  • List scheduled emails to review what is queued to be sent.
  • Cancel scheduled emails before they are delivered.
  • Read specific threads for context when executing responsibilities.
  • Search your email for relevant information.

Connecting

  1. Go to SettingsConnections.
  2. Click Connect on Gmail.
  3. Sign in with your Google account and grant Alma access to your email.

Gmail is a personal connection — each team member connects their own account.

Cloud processing

You can enable cloud processing for Gmail so Alma continues processing your email even when the desktop app isn’t running.
